The Vrock takes flight as a grotesque and malevolent creature from the Abyss. With its vulture-like appearance, sharp talons, and the ability to unleash chaotic energies, the Vrock embodies the horrors and chaotic nature of the demonic realm.

The Vrock is a large, bird-like demon standing over eight feet tall. Its body is covered in sickly feathers of varying shades of black and gray. Its beady, red eyes radiate malice, while its hooked beak and razor-sharp talons suggest its predatory nature. On its back, the Vrock sports large, leathery wings that allow it to soar through the air with terrifying agility.

As a servant of chaos, the Vrock revels in destruction and violence. It is armed with a savage arsenal of physical attacks, using its talons and beak to rend and tear its enemies. However, its most fearsome ability lies in its capacity to unleash a cacophonous screech, capable of deafening or stunning those unfortunate enough to be within range.

Additionally, the Vrock possesses the innate ability to channel chaotic energies. It can summon forth a storm of razor-sharp feathers, hurling them at its foes with deadly accuracy. The Vrock can also tap into the chaotic energies of the Abyss, creating bursts of demonic energy that cause harm and sow chaos on the battlefield.

As a demon from the Abyss, the Vrock is inherently resistant to mundane weapons and possesses a degree of immunity to certain spells. However, it is vulnerable to attacks that exploit its chaotic nature or target its demonic essence. Holy symbols, spells of banishment, or attacks infused with radiant energy are particularly effective against these demonic creatures.

Encountering a Vrock is to face a creature steeped in chaos and malevolence. Its presence exudes an aura of raw aggression and the unsettling allure of demonic power. Engaging with a Vrock requires courage, strategic thinking, and the ability to withstand its frenzied assaults. Only the most stalwart and resourceful adventurers can hope to vanquish this embodiment of demonic chaos.

Vrocks bring a touch of infernal terror and the unyielding chaos of the Abyss to the tapestry of the world. They serve as reminders of the horrors lurking beyond the mortal realms, as well as the eternal struggle between order and chaos. Whether encountered as avatars of demonic wrath, enforcers in the service of abyssal lords, or as twisted beings that revel in the chaos they sow, Vrocks add a sense of frenzied aggression, chaotic power, and the unsettling presence of demonic malevolence to the realms of adventure and exploration.

Actions

  • Multiattack: The vrock makes two attacks: one with its beak and one with its talons.
  • Beak: Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 10 (2d6 + 3) piercing damage.
  • Talons: Melee Weapon Attack: +6 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d10 + 3) slashing damage.
  • Spores: A 15-foot-radius cloud of toxic spores extends out from the vrock. The spores spread around corners. Each creature in that area must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or become poisoned. While poisoned in this way, a target takes 5 (1d10) poison damage at the start of each of its turns. A target can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. Emptying a vial of holy water on the target also ends the effect on it.
  • Stunning Screech: The vrock emits a horrific screech. Each creature within 20 feet of it that can hear it and that isn’t a demon must succeed on a DC 14 Constitution saving throw or be stunned until the end of the vrock’s next turn .
